Welcome to Sally’s Brook Wilderness Cabins
Sally’s Brook is an eco-friendly year-round cabin retreat in the heart of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada, just beside the Cabot Trail.
We have a variety of accommodations including wilderness cabins, glamping tents and a converted shipping container. Relax in our wood-fired sauna with a view of the ocean and mountains beyond. We opened in 2020 and are excited to be in operation for many years ahead.
The rugged natural landscape of Cape Breton with off-grid luxury amenities is a perfect spot for a group retreat, family reunion, vacation getaway, or the start or end of your trip around the Cabot Trail.
Our cabins are nestled in the trees with views overlooking St. Ann’s Bay and the mountains of the Highlands, about 5 minutes walk up a forest path from the parking area.
We are located in Unama’ki, within the unceded ancestral territory of the Mi’kmaq people.

What some of our guests have to say:
Since April of 2022, I have been traveling solo across Canada, staying with family and friends, tenting or in an occasional \’accommodation\’. I had the privilege of such a stay with you at the Eagle\’s Nest Cabin. What a retreat! What a Treat!? I came away with the following: Sounds – ocean, wind in the trees, birds, silence. Experience – luxuriously appointed, modern, comfortable, sustainable, epic light, private deck, more amenities that a traditional BnB or hotel. Service – Lisa Dixon is the property manager and hostess. If you have ever known coastal charm, it is Lisa personified. She is gracious, professional, friendly – made me feel so at home. The retreat space for myself was really important to come down for lots of travel, from staying in many different places over these past 4.5 months as I ventured from Yukon to NFLD and now Cape Breton. For a unique, exceptional, charming, restful experience and a perfect jump-off point to explore the Island, I hope many more get to experience what you have built.

Stayed one night in the Raven’s Roost cabin in January , great place, very clean and easy to heat with the wood stove. The cook house is well organized with everything you could need, washrooms with showers are great too. Also beautiful view from the cabin, we would definitely stay there again.

Everything about this place is spectacular. We had the place to ourselves and really got a chance to experience what this place had to offer. It’s a 5 minute incline hike but the views are definitely worth every huff and puff to get there. Lisa was very helpful taking out luggage and cooler up to the cabin on her side by side, and also at check out to help bring out back down… We stayed in the Ravens Roost cabin which is the biggest cabin and loved every minute of it. The spectacular views in the fall was the best part. The wood burning stove was very easy to use and it took no time to heat up the cabin if needed. It also makes for a romantic night playing cards with the one you love, or just snuggling to watch the flames… This place is great for groups, family gatherings, couples as long as you don’t mind sharing the facilities with the others. We are frequent travelers and absolutely loved these luxury cabins in the wilderness and recommend to anyone that is looking for a unique place to disconnect from it all.

We were so grateful for our romantic getaway and your communication from Lisa before/during and after our stay! Such a breathtaking view and a perfect cabin!!We loved every minute of it and the lights to the cabin was such a special touch!! We only wish we stayed longer to enjoy the sauna but we will definitely be back again!!
